The Breakthrough
Original Preliminary Pencil Sketch by Daniel A. Moore

The #14 Kentucky Wildcats lined up against the perennial-powerhouse #12 Penn State Nittany Lions in the 2019 Citrus Bowl. The doubters never expected the Cats to be up 20-7 in the third quarter and driving hard and fast from State's 12. But by this time in the game, they do expect what every Big Blue fan in the world knows is about to happen — Benny Snell will run it. The junior had a breakthrough season and was only 5 yards shy of rewriting the Cats all-time rushing record.

QB Terry Wilson took the snap, pivoted and thrust the ball into Snell's arms as the O-line surged forward, muscling off Nittany Lions nearly at will. Leaving blue and white tracers in his wake, Snell hit the hole like a cannon shot. Breakthrough . . . Right up the gut . . . Smash . . . Flash! Snell scored what proved to be the game-winning TD and staked his place in Kentucky lore as its all-time rusher!

Daniel A. Moore's body of work, generated from a life-long labor of love, has grown well into the millions of dollars in created value. His fine art prints have been collected by art lovers across the U.S. and in several foreign countries. But above all, his fine art limited edition prints have become treasured heirlooms of his alma mater's faithful.

For each of his major releases the artist spends hundreds of hours and even 1,000+ hours in creating the original oil painting — the all-important masterwork for a fine art print production. But, before he paints the painting, he sketches out his composition, from which he composes the larger full-color painting. This item is Mr. Moore's original preliminary pencil sketch for his full-color oil painting of The Breakthrough.

This original pencil sketch is framed in a black frame with truffle/black mats (as shown).

Total measurement with frame = 25¾" x 22
