Description
Alabama 55 | Auburn 0
December 4, 1948 marked the first day that the Alabama Crimson Tide & Auburn Tigers would battle it out on Legion Field to win the sacred Iron Bowl. Because the two schools could not cooperate together they discontinued playing the match-up from 1907 to 1947. They finally found common ground at Legion Field. Birmingham, Alabama would become the College Football Capital of the South for 40 more years.
Quarterback Ed Salem (#14) romps into the end zone with the help of Reb Steiner (#23) and an unidentified player (#20) which helped lead to a blowout against the Auburn Tigers.
