Description
Alabama 10 | Auburn 7
The Tigers’ coach Shug Jordan believed the 1953 Iron Bowl game to be the most important ever to date for Auburn. A lot was on the line as the Cotton Bowl bid was up for both teams. It was a close game, but Bama pulled it off, for the fourth year in a row. The 1953 Plainsmen seniors never won another match against their in-state rival.
Tide quarterback Bart Starr (#10) passes the ball to Bill Oliver (#33) to help get the Tide in field goal range to win the game.
