Bama held Auburn to zero for the third year in a row.  ”I’m tremendously proud of this Alabama football team, and tremendously proud of the seniors.  They had enough confidence in their in state university to go all the way.  They came there four years ago when the football was at a low ebb.  They came with a purpose.  And I think it’s very fitting that they should graduate with a national championship, if they win it,” Coach Bryant exclaimed.  The Crimson Tide went on to defeat Arkansas in the 1962 Sugar Bowl and win the National Title.
