Description
Alabama 28 | Auburn 17
Alabama wins again, and The Bear goes down in history. At 315 wins Coach Bryant broke the record for the most winningest football coach ever. It only took Bryant 37 years to build this record, but it took the previous winner, Amos Alonzo Stagg, 57 years to win 314 games. It wasn’t an easy win for the Tide — Auburn fought hard as they tried to keep Bryant from making history. The score was tied 7-7 at the half, and the Tigers actually led 17-14 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but Bama came back and took it from them.
Alabama safety Tommy Wilcox (#15) intercepts the ball from Auburn QB Ken Hobby (not pictured) which was intended for Ed West (#85).
