Description

Auburn 23 | Alabama 22

Before Alabama could extend their reign as Iron Bowl Champions for the tenth year, Auburn pulled the throne right from beneath them.  Auburn freshman running back Bo Jackson played the game of his life as the top rusher of the game with 114 yards on 17 carries.  Alabama dominated the first three quarters and led 22-17 with seven minutes left in the game, but Auburn ate up the clock and scored on fourth-and-goal.  Auburn used the I-formation, T-formation & the wishbone which all produced positively for the Tigers, but in the end, it was the defense who saved the day, holding Bama back in the final quarter.

Bo Jackson (#34) gets the ball from quarterback Randy Campbell (#14) and pushes through to the end zone for Auburn’s winning TD.
