Description
Auburn 23 | Alabama 20
Sophomore Bo Jackson was the obvious hero of this game. He set the record for the most yards ever by an Auburn runner in an SEC game with 256 yards on 20 carries. He also made a memorable first TD of the game by changing directions out of a Bama mob and running 69 yards to get six. “When you’re coming from behind, you just dive and try to trip him up. I tried to lock my arms around his leg, but he just kicked me away. The strength of his leg broke my grip,” said Tide’s Freddie Robinson of Bo Jackson. The Tiger’s win caused the Crimson Tide to lose their chance at the SEC Championship title - Auburn took it instead.
Tiger tackle Donnie Humphrey (#79) takes down Bama’s Kerry Goode (#35).
