Description
Maximum Block documents Alabama’s historic, last-second field-goal block that sealed its win over the Tennessee Volunteers on October 24, 2009 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Coming into this match, Bama’s defense was ranked #1 in the nation for fewest points allowed. With only 1:19 left in the game, Tennessee scored a touchdown to trim Bama’s lead to 12-10, then immediately recovered the ball on an onside kick. As time ran out, the Vols attempted a 44-yard field goal, but it was blocked by Bama’s Terrance Cody (#62) — this was Cody’s second blocked field goal in the fourth quarter of the game.
