Description
Coach Bryant simply put it this way, "I think those were the worst conditions I've ever seen a football game played in." Nevertheless, on December 2, 1967, Legion Field was packed with both Alabama and Auburn fans who braved the severe conditions to witness the mud bath. At one point in the game, Ken "the Snake" Stabler (#12) managed to slip loose from Auburn defenders and slosh his way 47 yards for a Tide touchdown. The TD and extra point accounted for Bama's only scoring in the game. But, it was enough to beat Auburn, who scored only a field goal and the game ended 7-3.
