Product Description
The Alabama-Tennessee game is traditionally played each season on the third Saturday of October. In 1962, the fierce showdown between these two heated rivals featured Joe Namath (#12), who is shown throwing a 35-yard TD pass to Benny Nelson (#28). Fullback Carlton Rankin (#17) is shown blocking. On that third Saturday in October the Tide rolled over the Vols in Knoxville with a score of 27-7. This picture also offers an in-depth look into the Namath era at the University of Alabama through the artist’s use of the photo border. From the 1964 National Championship team photo to Bob Hope’s television special at Coleman Coliseum, the border images bring back memories of the 1960’s.
